This supplement forms a part of SAE Aerospace Specification AS85421. It shall be used to identify fitting standards citing this procurement specification.
G-3, Aerospace Couplings, Fittings, Hose, Tubing Assemblies
This SAE Standard establishes the test procedure, environment, and instrumentation for determining the sound levels of snowmobiles in the stationary test mode. This test method is intended to provide an accurate measurement of exhaust and other engine noise and may be used to evaluate new and in-use snowmobiles to determine compliance with noise control regulations. Sound level measurements obtained with this test method are not intended as an engineering determination of overall machine noise. For this purpose, the use of SAE J192 is recommended.
Snowmobile Technical Committee
This document provides guidance for ECS design for UA primarily by reference to existing applicable SAE AC-9 documents with indication of how they would apply and how they may need to be adapted for UA. This document provides guidance related to environmental control for onboard equipment, cargo, animals, and passengers. This document cannot provide detail design guidance for all potential types of UA. Limited information is available for ECS requirements for UA that may carry passengers, but it should be expected that the same comfort and safety standards would be applied to UA as prescribed in current civil aviation authority rules and military specifications. Additional requirements unique to UA can be expected for totally autonomous UA operation with no provision for flight or ground crew monitoring and intervention in the event of ECS failures or malfunctions. This document does not pertain to the related ground stations that may be controlling the UA.
AC-9 Aircraft Environmental Systems Committee
This specification covers a carbon steel in the form of sheet and strip.
AMS E Carbon and Low Alloy Steels Committee
AS-3 Fiber Optics and Applied Photonics Committee
The marine environment differs greatly from other environments in which hydraulics are used. This Recommended Practice provides hydraulic design considerations and criteria for the marine environment and is applicable to commercial vessels, military ships, and submersible vehicles. This document may be used for manned and un-manned vehicles.
Ship Fluid Systems Committee
E-25 General Standards for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems
E-25 General Standards for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems
This SAE Standard was developed to provide a method for indicating the direction of engine rotation and numbering of engine cylinders. The document is intended for use in designing new engines to eliminate the differences which presently exist in industry.
Engine Power Test Code Committee
G-3, Aerospace Couplings, Fittings, Hose, Tubing Assemblies
This SAE Recommended Practice describes the test procedures for conducting quasi-static modular body strength tests for ambulance applications. Its purpose is to establish recommended test practices which standardize the procedure for Type I and Type III bodies, provide ambulance builders and end-users with testing procedures and, where appropriate, provide acceptance criteria that, to a great extent, ensures the ambulance structure meets the same performance criteria across the industry. Descriptions of the test set-up, test instrumentation, photographic/video coverage, and the test fixtures are included.
Truck Crashworthiness Committee
This Aerospace Information Report (AIR) outlines the design considerations and criteria for the control of water carryover from the environmental control system (ECS) with respect to causes and indicated corrective or preventative action. In addition, condensation on structure will be reviewed with possible preventative action described.
AC-9 Aircraft Environmental Systems Committee
This Information Report presents background and rationale for SAE Recommended Practice J1106, Laboratory Testing Machine and Procedures for Measuring the Steady Force and Moment Properties of Passenger Car Tires. The purpose of SAE J1106 is to define standards for equipment design and test procedures so that data from different laboratories can be directly compared. Whereas such standardization is not a requirement for testing associated with tire development, it is necessary in the context of vehicle design and tire selection problems. The basic approach employed in developing SAE J1106 was to consolidate and document existing technology as embodied in equipment and procedures currently employed for routine tire evaluations. Equipment and procedures whose current use is restricted to research applications were not considered. Research experience is discussed in this Information Report, however, to the extent deemed necessary to provide background and rationale for SAE J1106. Material

The test procedure per the applicable Engine Manual does require a vibration check for the low/intermediate and high speed rotor systems. Release of an engine with high vibrations can result in: On-wing vibration complaints, with subsequent troubleshooting Rotor system failures Premature engine removals Limits are provided for transient conditions and steady state data points. Troubleshooting recommendations are limited to verification of the proper signal input and tracking. This practice provides recommendations for: Correct cable and transmitter installation and connections Calibration Recorded data interpretation and data analysis
EG-1E Gas Turbine Test Facilities and Equipment
AE-7P Protective and Control Devices
This aerospace recommended practice provides a framework and suggested procedures or values for requirements for the design, performance, and test of hydraulically powered servoactuators for use in aircraft flight control systems. The original version of this document was intended for military usage: consequently, the requirements still often reflect such use. However, the basic requirements of this ARP may and should be applicable to commercial usage as well, provided that appropriate considerations are given for the applicable FAR/JAR 25 regulations, hydraulic fluids, and environmental conditions.
A-6B1 Hydraulic Servo Actuation Committee
This specification covers a premium aircraft-quality, low-alloy steel in the form of bars, forgings, and forging stock.
AMS E Carbon and Low Alloy Steels Committee
This specification covers a high temperature, compression set, and fluid resistant fluorocarbon (FKM) elastomer in the form of molded O-rings, molded compression seals, molded O-ring cord, and molded-in-place gaskets for aeronautical and aerospace applications. For sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions, and molded shapes, use the AMS3384 specification.
AMS CE Elastomers Committee
This specification covers a premium aircraft-quality alloy steel in the form of bars, forgings, and forging stock.
AMS E Carbon and Low Alloy Steels Committee
This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) provides data and general analysis methods for calculation of internal and external, pressurized and unpressurized airplane compartment pressures during rapid discharge of cabin pressure. References to the applicable current FAA and EASA rules and advisory material are provided. While rules and interpretations can be expected to evolve, numerous airplanes have been approved under current and past rules that will have a continuing need for analysis of production and field modifications, alterations and repairs. The data and basic principles provided by this report are adaptable to any compartment decompression analysis requirement.
AC-9 Aircraft Environmental Systems Committee
This specification covers the requirements for the acquisition of two alloys of copper-beryllium alloy strip, having higher electrical conductivity than copper-beryllium alloy strip normally used (see 6.1). All sizes of strip are covered by this specification.
AMS D Nonferrous Alloys Committee
This specification covers the requirements for self-sealing, quick-disconnect couplings for fuel and oil system components.
