This SAE Recommended Practice defines performance and life cycle tests for lithium-ion cells used primarily for propulsion of electric vehicles including battery electric vehicles (BEVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and other similar propulsion applications (for example, forklift trucks). The objective of this document is to define common performance test procedures for lithium-ion cells. Results from these procedures can be used for comparative purposes. Performance requirements are not defined in this document, but are to be defined by the users of the document.

This SAE Standard presents a set of rules for transforming an Abstract Syntax Notation (ASN.1) message set definition into an eXtensible Markup Language (XML) schema. The result is intended to be a stand-alone XML Schema that is fully consistent with an existing ASN.1 information model. This is a different goal from other related work by other standards bodies developing a set of XML encoding rules for ASN.1 or ASN.1 encodings for XML Schema. These rules were initially developed in order to produce an XML schema for the SAE ATIS standard. While other standards may also choose to use these rules, the rules may not be applicable for all environments. The goal for these transformation rules is twofold. The first goal is to provide a uniform set of such rules that all interested parties can use. The second goal is to use such rules to define an adopted schema for traveler information that reflects the preferred translation of ASN.1 message sets to XML for use by ITS system implementers

ARINC Specification 485, Part 2 specifies the ARINC 485-control protocol used by the LRUs described in ARINC Specification 628 Part 2. This document defines a multi-drop bus. The point-to-point configuration is also supported. The point-to-point bus is treated simply as a multi-drop bus with only one drop. There is one master LRU and one or more slave LRUs present on the bus. However; multiple buses may be connected in parallel, where each parallel bus operates independently from each other.

This standard defines a new cabin network bus. While ARINC Specification 485: Cabin Equipment Interfaces, Part 2, Physical Layer - In-seat Protocol defined a low-speed serial communications interface between electronic equipment in the passenger seat, it is design-focused on obtaining status from in-seat electronic equipment. ARINC Specification 854 is a messaging protocol but does not preclude using the bus for video streaming or multicast. Cabin Equipment has evolved from the very simple to quite sophisticated systems. The resulting communications needs have surpassed the ability of ARINC 485 to provide the necessary data capacity and response times. The basic requirements for low latency, full duplex, elimination of ARINC 485 Master/Slave polling and lower weight drives the selection of 100BASE-T1 (per IEEE 802.3) as the preferred bus format. This document specifies the ARINC 854 Cabin Equipment Network Bus (CENBUS) utilizing a new, serial communications protocol based on IEEE 802.3

Mark 4 Air Traffic Control Transponder (ATCRBS/MODE S) describes an Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System/Mode Select (ATCRBS/Mode S) airborne transponder with Extended Interface Functions (EIF). The ATC surveillance system is made up of airborne transponders and ground interrogator-receivers, processing equipment, and antenna systems. Mode S is a cooperative surveillance system for air traffic control with ancillary communications capabilities. ARINC 718A supports elementary surveillance. Provisional enhanced surveillance functionality is also defined as a customer option. The Mark 4 transponder, like its predecessor, will support Collision Avoidance System which includes TCAS and ACAS X functions.
