Scope

Content: This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars, wire, forgings, flash welded rings, drawn shapes up through 6.000 inches (152.40 mm) inclusive in diameter or least distance between parallel sides and stock of any size for forging or flash welded rings.

Rationale

Content: AMS4928V removes allowance of larger size sample for hydrogen analysis (covered by ASTM E1447) and adds continuous heat treating of smaller diameter wire.
