- This paper proposes a new electric drive system that achieves both loss reduction and a wide range of speed-torque characteristics by switching the number of winding turns equivalently in low- and high-speed regions with the use of a single semiconductor switch. Through simulation, the efficiency of the system is verified in comparison with that of a conventional system in WLTC mode in a 200 kW system. In addition, the operational and control validity of the system is verified through an experiment in the 19 kW prototype system.
