Scope

Content: This document specifies a set of rules for the creation and management of the V2X ASN.1 Module Collection. These rules apply to the development of any message, data element, data frame, or any ASN.1 Entity that is part of the V2X ASN.1 Module Collection, regardless of the SAE technical report in which it appears. The intended audience for these rules includes every technical committee (TC) under the SAE V2X Communications Steering Committee.

Rationale

Content: A set of rules is needed to facilitate the creation and management of the large number and variety of messages, data elements, and data frames, specified in ASN.1 notation and included in SAE J2735 and in other SAE technical reports that specify V2X applications. Those ASN.1 Entities are referred to as the “V2X ASN.1 Module Collection.” This document specifies a set of rules that SAE technical committees (TCs) under the V2X Communications Steering Committee are to follow when making additions or modifications to any part of the V2X ASN.1 Module Collection.
