- This SAE Recommended Practice establishes the test equipment, procedure, and acceptance criteria necessary to determine the location of power driven components that could, upon inadvertent contact by an operator, passenger, or bystander, inflict injury.

- This new document is taking the existing SSCC-58 document "Snowmobile Probe Test for Contact with Power Driven Parts" and moving it into the SAE format. This will eliminate the last reference to SSCC Test Methods for the Snowmobile Safety Certification Committee. At the completion of this activity all test methods will be documented under SAE practices.
