- Content
- This SAE Recommended Practice provides a development or possibly interim production communication protocol between engine, transmission, ABS/traction control, and retarder systems until higher speed communication links are established.
- Content
- SAE J1922 is no longer actively supported by a current ECU and has been superseded by SAE J1939 on all current North American trucks, but it is installed and working in thousands of trucks today. SAE J1922 is being moved to a Noncurrent status, since it is not being implemented in new products, but still needs to be available to maintain the trucks that are using it.
