- This document establishes the minimum requirements for an environmental test chamber, and test procedures to carry out anti-icing performance tests according to the current materials specification for aircraft deicing/anti-icing fluids. The primary purpose for such a test method is to determine the anti-icing endurance under controlled laboratory conditions of AMS1424 Type I and AMS1428 Type II, III, and IV fluids.
- Content
- This document brings clarifications to test methods and proposes some editorial changes. The main change is in 5.4 where the icing intensity measurement procedure has been reviewed and updated; the indirect method has been removed as an approved method. In 4.2.2 and 4.2.2.1, the relative humidity percentage (% RH) requirement has been changed to reflect the minimum %RH requirement of the HHET in 3.3. Section 4.2.2.1 has also been modified to reflect the actual test conditions.
