AS1356 Life Rafts

ARP1356A has been converted to AS1356, at the request of the FAA, to support revision of Technical Standard Order C-70. The AS incorporates lessons learned from independent testing, and from maritime and aviation life raft standards, to provide a minimum acceptable level of life saving performance under conditions likely to be experienced in use and consistent with current technology. The inclusion of performance-based standards for as many design criteria as is practical supports innovation, while allowing continued use of proven designs and materials.
