Scope

Content: This document sets forth the characteristics of the integrated Global Positioning System (GPS)/Global Orbiting Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) sensor unit (GNSSU) portion of a GNSS system intended for installation in commercial aircraft. The intent of this document is to provide general and specific design guidance for the development of GNSS sensors for airline use. It describes the desired operational capability of the GNSS system and the standards necessary to ensure interchangeability.
