ARINC596-4 MARK 2 AIRBORNE SELCAL SYSTEM

This standard describes the system requirements for a ground-to-air SELCAL system. The purpose of the system is to permit the selective calling of individual aircraft over normal radio communications circuits linking the ground station with the aircraft. The elements comprising the overall system are: ground selective calling unit (coder), ground-to-air transmitter (HF or VHF), airborne receiver (HF or VHF), airborne selective calling unit (decoder), annunciator panel, and code selection panel.
