Scope

Content: This standard sets forth the characteristics of a Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) designed for installation in commercial aircraft. The GPWS provides audible and visible warnings or alerts when an aircraft approaches terrain or deviates below the ILS glide slope beyond the limits set into the system.
