Content
This standard defines the requirements of an INS, which provides sensor and steering command outputs. The INS includes inertial sensing and provides outputs for aircraft attitude, present position, and steering signals suitable for operating the pilot's instruments. The basic INS provides complete self-contained horizontal navigation capability intended to serve as the sole means of navigation on a worldwide basis.
