AMS5659N identifies a new procedure for ordering bars in the precipitation heat treated condition (1.1.1), includes a restriction on bar being cut from plate (3.3.1.4), revises macrostructure requirements (3.5.1.1), clarifies thickness of bars (3.5.2.2), removes the requirement for hardness testing after precipitation heat treatment (4.2.1.4, 4.4.2), revises Heat Treatment (3.4) and time tolerances for precipitation heat treatment (Table 3), clarifies tensile orientation for transverse tests (3.5.2.2.1.3), includes tolerances for extrusions (3.7), revises reports (4.4) and ordering data (8.6).
