Scope

Content: This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars, wire, forgings, and flash welded rings 4.000 inches (101.60 mm) and under in nominal diameter or least distance between parallel sides and of stock for forging or flash welded rings of any size (see 8.6).

Rationale

Content: AMS4950E results from a Five-Year Review and update of this specification that revises composition analytical methods (3.1), prohibits unauthorized exceptions (3.9), added AMS2368 (4.3 and 4.5), and revises reporting (4.4) and identification (5.1.1).
