Its purpose is to define the meaning of prognostics in this context, explain their potential and limitations, and to provide guidelines for potential approaches for use in existing condition monitoring environments. This document also includes some examples. The current revision does not provide specific guidance on validation and verification, nor does it address implementation aspects such as computational capability or certification.

This standard describes a requirement for automotive tire traceability. It includes a definition of the RFID tag and the associated tire data set that can be accessed using the RFID tag as an identifier. The standard describes a unique identification and the associated data set for each tire produced by the tire fabricator. This data will either be provided or transmitted at the time of shipment to retailers, wholesalers or original equipment vehicle manufacturers. Tire identification code and data may be used for error proofing, determining the tire specifications or supporting any inquiries that occur for the duration of its automotive life.

The topics addressed include operational procedures, training, and protocols that flight crew members should follow in the event of a laser exposure. Of particular emphasis, this document outlines coping strategies for use during critical phases of flight. Although lasers are capable of causing retinal damage, most laser cockpit illuminations, to date, has been relatively low in irradiance causing primarily startle reactions, visual glare, flashblindness and afterimages. Permanent eye injuries from unauthorized laser exposures have been extremely rare. This specification defines test methods and requirements for validation of solderless crimped connections. The purpose of this test is to simulate in the lab the stress seen in a typical life (15 years and 150000 miles) for a crimp connection and assure the crimp is mechanically strong and electrically stable. This specification was developed for use with stranded automotive copper wire. Only where specifically mentioned are other constructions or other core materials (aluminum, clad, steel core, etc.) applicable. This specification does not apply to wire types not mentioned, such as coaxial cable crimps, unless a USCAR-21 test is specifically referenced in the test specification for that wire type. This interface standard applies to fuzes/fuzing systems (referred to as fuzing system hereafter) in airborne weapons that use a MIL-STD-1760 type interface.
