Fused Filament Fabrication, Process Specification for

AMS AM Additive Manufacturing Non-Metallic
  • Aerospace Standard
  • AMS7100
  • Current
Published 2019-10-09 by SAE International in United States
This specification establishes the requirements for the production of reliable, repeatable, reproducible aerospace parts by fused filament fabrication but is not limited to such application. This specification establishes the requirements to approve new machines, processes, and materials. Specifically, this specification covers machine configuration, operating software, machine calibration, machine and build parameters, and testing methodology required to create aerospace parts. This specification also defines the user’s responsibility for following the specified requirements.

Three-Point Hitch (Type A) Backhoe Personnel Protection

OPTC1, Personnel Protection (General)
  • Ground Vehicle Standard
  • J1518_201908
  • Current
Published 2019-08-28 by SAE International in United States
This SAE Recommended Practice applies to three-point hitch (Type A) backhoes as defined in SAE J326 when mounted on either an agricultural tractor as defined in ANSI/ASAE S390 or other off-road self-propelled work machine as defined in SAE J1116. This criterion is intended for the manufacturer of the backhoe, whether or not the backhoe is manufactured or marketed by the same company that manufactures or markets the propelling machine.

Crewmember Demand Oxygen Mask for Transport Category Aircraft

A-10 Aircraft Oxygen Equipment Committee
  • Aerospace Standard
  • AS8026B
  • Current
Published 2019-08-14 by SAE International in United States
This standard covers oxygen masks and breathing valves used with both panel mounted and mask mounted demand and pressure-demand oxygen regulators. Mask mounted oxygen regulators are covered under other standards, but when the mask mounted regulator incorporates an integral exhalation valve, the performance of this valve shall meet the requirements of this standard.

Crew Rest Facilities

S-7 Flight Deck Handling Qualities Stds for Trans Aircraft
  • Aerospace Standard
  • ARP4101/3A
  • Current
Published 2019-04-01 by SAE International in United States
This document recommends criteria for the design and installation of flight crew rest facilities (FCRF) on transport category aircraft when operations with an augmented flight crew are performed. NOTE: Within this ARP, the term “must” will indicate items required for compliance with outside known government regulations, especially 14 CFR Part 117. “Shall” describes sections which are required if this ARP is used as a means of compliance. The term “should” will indicate optional requirements, preferences, and recommendations of the approving SAE committee. Wherever noted and bracketed as [FAA] or [EASA], this document includes agency regulations for reference that are not otherwise evaluated herein.

Rider Stature Influence to Injury Risk in Motorcycle Rear Impact to Car

Tianjin University of Science and Technology-Wenle Lv
University of West Bohemia-Ludek Hyncik, Tomasz Bonkowski
Published 2019-03-25 by SAE International in United States
Road traffic accidents cause one of the highest numbers of severe injuries. Approximately 1.25 million people die each year as a result of road traffic crashes and between 20 and 50 million more people suffer non-fatal injuries, with many incurring a disability. Nearly half of those dying on the roads are so-called vulnerable road users, namely pedestrians, cyclists and two-wheeler riders including motorcyclists. Those vulnerable road users usually undergo complex kinematics and complex loading caused by the other vehicle impact.Virtual human body biomechanical models play an important role to assess the injuries during the impact loading especially for scenarios, where complex dynamical loading is taken into account. An additional benefit of some virtual human models is their scalability, so that they can assess the injury risk for the particular subject taking into account a wide spectrum of the whole population. The presented work shows the motorcycle rider injury risk analysis during the rear motorcycle accident to the car using the virtual approach by the numerical simulation taking into account the variability of the human body. Power Quality Requirements for Plug-In Electric Vehicle Chargers

Hybrid - EV Committee
  • Ground Vehicle Standard
  • J2894/1_201901
  • Current
Published 2019-01-23 by SAE International in United States
The intent of this document is to develop a recommended practice for PEV chargers, whether on-board or off-board the vehicle, that will enable equipment manufacturers, vehicle manufacturers, electric utilities, and others to make reasonable design decisions regarding power quality. The three main purposes are as follows: 1 To identify those parameters of PEV battery charger that must be controlled in order to preserve the quality of the AC service. 2 To identify those characteristics of the AC service that may significantly impact the performance of the charger. 3 To identify values for power quality, susceptibility, and power control parameters which are based on current U.S. and international standards. These values should be technically feasible and cost effective to implement into PEV battery chargers. SAE J2894/2 will describe the test methods for the parameters/requirements in this document.

Test Procedure for Battery Flame Retardant Venting Systems

Starter Battery Standards Committee
  • Ground Vehicle Standard
  • J1495_201811
  • Current
Published 2018-11-12 by SAE International in United States
This SAE Standard details procedures for testing lead-acid SLI (starting, lighting, and ignition), heavy-duty, EV (electric vehicle), and RV (recreational vehicle) batteries, to determine the effectiveness of the battery venting system to retard the propagation of an externally ignited flame of battery gas into the interior of the battery under sustained overcharge conditions. NOTE: At this time, 2018, there is no known comparable ISO Standard.
