This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) recommends a methodology to be used for the design, analysis and test evaluation of modern helicopter gas turbine propulsion system stability and transient response characteristics. This methodology utilizes the computational power of modern digital computers to more thoroughly analyze, simulate and bench-test the helicopter engine/rotor system speed control loop over the flight envelope. This up-front work results in significantly less effort expended during flight test and delivers a more effective system into service. The methodology presented herein is recommended for modern digital electronic propulsion control systems and also for traditional analog and hydromechanical systems.

This document defines a physical layer having a robust immunity to EMI and physical properties suitable for harsh environments. CAN controllers are available which support the CAN Flexible Data Rate Frame Format. These controllers, when used on SAE J1939-11 networks, must be restricted to use only the Classical Frame Format compliant to ISO 11898-1:2015. These SAE Recommended Practices are intended for light- and heavy-duty vehicles on- or off-road as well as appropriate stationary applications which use vehicle derived components (e.g., generator sets). Vehicles of interest include but are not limited to: on- and off-highway trucks and their trailers; construction equipment; and agricultural equipment and implements.
Truck and Bus Control and Communications Network Committee
This SAE Surface Vehicle Technical Information Report, SAE J2836/4, establishes diagnostic use cases between plug-in electric vehicles (PEV) and the electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE). As PEVs are deployed and include both plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) and battery electric (BEV) vehicle variations, failures of the charging session between the EVSE and PEV may include diagnostics particular to the vehicle variations. This document describes the general information required for diagnostics and SAE J2847/4 will include the detail messages to provide accurate information to the customer and/or service personnel to identify the source of the issue and assist in resolution. Existing vehicle diagnostics can also be added and included during this charging session regarding issues that have occurred or are imminent to the EVSE or PEV, to assist in resolution of these items.

Ignition Standards Committee
This test procedure is intended to apply to hydraulic pump suction filters and strainers used in automotive automatic transmissions that include hydraulic power pumps. The various paragraphs of Section 5 include a variety of tests and alternative tests that are not applicable to all filters and applications, so the engineer must specify which tests are to be performed for a particular application. These test procedures are intended to evaluate filter functional performance characteristics only, durability is not evaluated under this standard. Filter design requirements must be specified by the engineer on the filter assembly drawing, an applicable engineering specification, or summarized on an application data sheet similar to that found in this recommended practice. This aerospace specification defines the requirements for a threadless, flexible, conductive, self-bonding coupling assembly which, when installed on fixed cavity ferrules, provides a flexible, current carrying connection for joining tubing and components in aircraft fuel, vent and other systems. The assembled coupling is designed to provide interchangeability of parts and components between qualified manufacturers for the service life of the aircraft system. The assembled coupling is for use from -65 to +200 °F at nominal operating pressures (125 psig for -08 through -64 and 30 psig for -72 through -88). This aerospace specification is a departure from prior qualification practices for assembled couplings. Prior practice sought to validate this type of assembled coupling design by conducting a sequence of tests on sets of coupling assemblies. Decorative sulfuric acid anodizing has been well developed over the last several decades in the aluminum industry. Exterior and interior performance demonstrated that parts processed to this document meet long-term durability requirements. Since the treatment of processing variables is outside the scope of this document, it is important for applicators of this coating to develop an intimate knowledge of their process, and control all parameters that affect the quality of the end product. The use of techniques such as statistical process control (SPC), capability studies, design of experiments, process optimization, etc., are critical to produce material of consistently high quality.

Some of the design characteristics in this document are listed solely for the sake of standardization and are not intended to describe the performance of lighting devices (lamp assemblies) on the vehicle. This SAE Recommended Practice describes a laboratory test procedure for measuring the composite loss factor and bending stiffness properties of a system consisting of a damping material bonded to a vibrating bar which is excited at the center. The bar could be a steel, aluminum, glass, or other metal or composite bar that would be used in ground vehicles, marine products, and aircraft. The damping materials could be homogeneous, nonhomogeneous, a combination of homogeneous and nonhomogeneous, used in conjunction without or with an inelastic material (such as aluminum foil) in an extensional layer or a constrained layer configuration. The damping material could be a heat bondable material, adhesive backed sheet material, sprayable coating material, or other kinds of viscoelastic materials.
