G-3, Aerospace Couplings, Fittings, Hose, Tubing Assemblies
This SAE Standard establishes the test procedure, environment, and instrumentation for determining the sound levels of snowmobiles in the stationary test mode. This test method is intended to provide an accurate measurement of exhaust and other engine noise and may be used to evaluate new and in-use snowmobiles to determine compliance with noise control regulations. Sound level measurements obtained with this test method are not intended as an engineering determination of overall machine noise. For this purpose, the use of SAE J192 is recommended.
Snowmobile Technical Committee
This SAE Recommended Practice describes a laboratory test procedure for measuring the composite loss factor and bending stiffness properties of a system consisting of a damping material bonded to a vibrating bar which is excited at the center. The bar could be a steel, aluminum, glass, or other metal or composite bar that would be used in ground vehicles, marine products, and aircraft. The damping materials could be homogeneous, nonhomogeneous, a combination of homogeneous and nonhomogeneous, used in conjunction without or with an inelastic material (such as aluminum foil) in an extensional layer or a constrained layer configuration. The damping material could be a heat bondable material, adhesive backed sheet material, sprayable coating material, or other kinds of viscoelastic materials. The damping procedure discussed here provides means to measure damping over a range of frequencies and temperatures found applicable and useable for different transportation systems. The term

E-25 General Standards for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems
The purpose of this SAE Recommended Practice is to verify that vehicles and/or components are capable of communicating a required set of information, which is described by the diagnostic messages specified in SAE J1939-73, that is in accordance with off-board diagnostic tool interface requirements contained in the government regulations cited below. This document describes the tests, methods, and results for verifying diagnostic communications from an off-board diagnostic tool (i.e., scan tool) to a vehicle and/or component. SAE members have generated this document to serve as a guide for testing vehicles for compliance with ARB and other requirements for emissions-related on-board diagnostic (OBD) functions for heavy-duty engines used in medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. The development of HD OBD regulations by U.S. EPA and California’s Air Resources Board (ARB) require that diagnostic message services are exercised to evaluate diagnostic communication standardization requirements on

E-25 General Standards for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) is intended to be used as a guide for defining the methods to be used in performing electrical acceptance tests with automatic test equipment and to ensure repeatability and compatibility of results between manufacturers and between manufacturers and users.
AE-7P Protective and Control Devices
E-25 General Standards for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) covers specification requirements for a rotary plow with carrier vehicle. The primary use is to cast heavy concentrations of snow approximately perpendicular to carrier vehicles across and away from airport operational areas, such as runways and taxiways. Rotary plows equipped with spot casting, or loading chutes are also used to cast snow in directions through approximately 100 degrees to the left or right of directly in front of the carrier vehicle, and also to load trucks or trailers used to haul snow away from removal area. The term “carrier vehicle” represents the various self-propelled prime movers that provide the power necessary to move snow and ice control equipment during winter operations.
G-15 Airport Snow and Ice Control Equipment Committee
The objective of this ARP is to provide a set of user-centered design guidelines for the implementation of data driven electronic aeronautical charts, which dynamically create charts from a database of individual elements. The data driven chart is intended to provide information required to navigate, but it is not intended to supplant the aircraft’s primary navigation display. These guidelines seek to provide a balance between standardization of equipment with similar intended functions and individual manufacturer innovation. This ARP provides guidelines for the display of an electronic chart that can replace existing paper. This document addresses what information is required, when it is required, and how it should be displayed and controlled. This document does not include all the detailed specifications required to generate an electronic aeronautical chart. This document primarily addresses the human factors aspects of electronic chart display, and does not address the software

This specification establishes the DV/PV performance and validation requirements for frontal airbag modules, namely driver, passenger, and knee airbags. In cases where airbag designs fall outside the scope of this standard, the Responsible Vehicle Engineering Organization (RVEO) is the final arbiter of all performance requirements within this specification. Additional system level requirements may be introduced by the RVEO but are outside the scope of this specification.
USCAR
This SAE Recommended Practice describes two-dimensional, 95th percentile truck driver, side view, seated shin-knee contours for both the accelerator operating leg and the clutch operating leg for horizontally adjustable seats (see Figure 1). There is one contour for the clutch shin-knee and one contour for the accelerator shin-knee. There are three locating equations for each curve to accommodate male-to-female ratios of 50:50, 75:25, and 90:10 to 95:5.

The objective of any organization, as part of continual improvement, is to reduce the number of issues (i.e., undesirable conditions, defects, failures) and to minimize their impact on quality, delivery performance, and cost. This includes having processes in place to detect and eradicate significant and recurrent issues, which implies having well identified problems, a common understanding of their impact and associated root causes, and having defined and implemented adequate actions so that these problems, including similar issues will not happen again.
