This document is intended to establish a procedure to certify AD fallback test driver skill levels as an endorsement to SAE J3300 foundational level certification. The SAE J3300/3 endorsement can be used by the individual driver to qualify their skills as a test driver of vehicles with automated driving features. The SAE J3300/3 endorsement levels may also be used by test facilities or other organizations when seeking test or professional drivers with these skills. This document provides directions for obtaining the endorsement, including associated AD fallback test driving skill examination requirements, through SAE J3300-certified Examiners (refer to SAE J3300 for definition). Endorsement registration and associated records are administered through Probitas Authentication®. Probitas Authentication® is the current Independent Program Administrator for the SAE J3300 series. The purpose of this SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) is to provide the sample selection and endurance time test procedures for SAE Type II, III, and IV aircraft deicing/anti-icing fluids, required for the generation of endurance time data of acceptable quality for review by the SAE G-12 Holdover Time Committee. The related standard ARP5718 provides the process by which endurance time data is converted to holdover times for publication by regulators and subsequent use by aircraft operators.
G-12HOT Holdover Time Committee
This procedure measures the resistance to radiant heat flow of insulating materials in sleeve, tubing, or tape (collectively referred to as “sleeve”) form. The sleeve’s effectiveness (SE) is determined by measuring the difference in surface temperature of a flat black, single-diameter ceramic cylinder with and without the standard diameter sleeve at the specified temperature, position, and distance from the radiant heat source.

Long wave ultraviolet or UV-A irradiation (between 320 and 400 nm) is used for fluorescent inspections in magnetic particle and liquid penetrant examinations. UV-A irradiation is obtained from either LED, fluorescent, or high intensity discharge lamps that are stationary or portable. Commercially available UV-A lamps possess a large variation in intensity output that may introduce a legitimate concern for possible health hazards. This document reviews the nature of UV-A irradiation emitted by lamps and acceptable UV dosage limits adopted by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH®) and European Union and recommendation of proper practices when working with UV-A irradiation.

This standard describes a requirement for automotive tire traceability. It includes a definition of the RFID tag and the associated tire data set that can be accessed using the RFID tag as an identifier. The standard describes a unique identification and the associated data set for each tire produced by the tire fabricator. This data will either be provided or transmitted at the time of shipment to retailers, wholesalers or original equipment vehicle manufacturers. Tire identification code and data may be used for error proofing, determining the tire specifications or supporting any inquiries that occur for the duration of its automotive life.

Piston and Ring Standards Committee
This SAE Information Report establishes a consistent procedure for measuring and analyzing the natural sway response of a particular trailer when attached to a particular vehicle under specific loading and operating conditions. This test procedure applies, but is not limited to, passenger cars, vans, light/medium-duty trucks as tow vehicles, and semitrailers with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 11794 kg (26000 pounds) or less. Other applications include full trailers, tow dollies, tow bars, and the like. Other articulated vehicles can utilize this test procedure as long as the test does not exceed the linear behavior of the system. This test procedure does not apply to motorcycles towing trailers.

The Class A Task Force of the Vehicle Network for Multiplexing and Data Communications Subcommittee is providing information on sensors that could be applicable for a Class A Bus application. Sensors are generally defined as any device that inputs information onto the bus. Sensors can be an input controlled by the operator or an input that provides the feedback or status of a monitored vehicle function. Although there is a list of sensors provided, this list is not all-inclusive. This SAE Information Report is intended to help the network system engineer and is meant to stimulate the design thought process.
Vehicle Architecture For Data Communications Standards
The scope of this document is to describe system design guidelines for the use of haptic interfaces to manage system safety and functional aspects of designs applicable for OEM and aftermarket systems in light vehicles. The intent of these guidelines is to help system designers determine when to use haptic interfaces and how to ensure their effectiveness. These may be stand-alone interfaces or the haptic aspects of multi-modal (audio, video, speech, haptic) interfaces. Excludes haptic systems designed for use by passengers, which may be addressed in a future version.
