The proposed Digital Mesh/Fabric concept builds upon the Digital Thread Framework (refer to AIR7161) by representing the interconnection of multiple digital threads across multiple data stores, logical organizing segments, and product life-cycle stages. Unlike a single digital thread, which follows a linear or sequential flow of data utilization through a product life cycle, the Digital Mesh/Fabric forms a complex mesh of n-dimensional interconnected digital threads, allowing for greater value creation, flexibility in data utilization, scalability, and integration.

This procedure measures the resistance to radiant heat flow of insulating materials in sleeve, tubing, or tape (collectively referred to as “sleeve”) form. The sleeve’s effectiveness (SE) is determined by measuring the difference in surface temperature of a flat black, single-diameter ceramic cylinder with and without the standard diameter sleeve at the specified temperature, position, and distance from the radiant heat source.

This document is intended to establish a procedure to certify AD fallback test driver skill levels as an endorsement to SAE J3300 foundational level certification. The SAE J3300/3 endorsement can be used by the individual driver to qualify their skills as a test driver of vehicles with automated driving features. The SAE J3300/3 endorsement levels may also be used by test facilities or other organizations when seeking test or professional drivers with these skills. This document provides directions for obtaining the endorsement, including associated AD fallback test driving skill examination requirements, through SAE J3300-certified Examiners (refer to SAE J3300 for definition). Endorsement registration and associated records are administered through Probitas Authentication®. Probitas Authentication® is the current Independent Program Administrator for the SAE J3300 series. This document is a supplement to SAE J3300, providing information specific to the AD fallback test driver skill

FMEA is a systematic approach aimed at identifying and mitigating potential risks in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of a product. Implementing FMEA provides a range of benefits, such as: Preventing potential failures early in the life cycle. Identifying risk - establishing clear linkages ensures that no potential failure mode is overlooked across the life cycle of the product. Improving product safety, reliability, performance, and supportability. Enhancing collaboration - the framework fosters cross-functional communication, enabling design, manufacturing, and maintenance teams to work in harmony. Achieving effectiveness - by integrating analyses and plans, organizations can streamline workflows and reduce redundancies. Reducing costs associated with product failures. Enhancing customer satisfaction through consistent quality and reliability. Improving product quality - comprehensive linkage reduces errors and ensures a robust design and manufacturing process. Providing the

This document defines a physical layer having a robust immunity to EMI and physical properties suitable for harsh environments. This document is suitable for CAN interfaces applying CAN HS (high-speed) transceivers as specified in ISO 11898-2. These SAE Recommended Practices are intended for light- and heavy-duty vehicles on- or off-road, as well as appropriate stationary applications which use vehicle derived components (e.g., generator sets). Vehicles of interest include, but are not limited to, on- and off-highway trucks and their trailers, construction equipment, and agricultural equipment and implements.

This document provides a recommended electrical performance testing guideline for LIBM, which makes up an xEV (Battery Electric Vehicles and Hybrid Electric Vehicles) battery pack system. This testing guideline may also be used for other applications, such as stationary, vessel, and aircraft. However, using the guideline for other applications should be determined by the users of this document. Users of this document may also be interested in conducting tests on battery cells and/or battery packs. To avoid conducting potentially redundant tests between cells, modules, and packs, this document does not specify which tests need to be conducted. Determination of which tests need to be conducted is at the user’s discretion and should be based on individual module applications. Rather than specifying which tests need to be conducted, this document describes how each test is to be conducted. This document provides a matrix of tests that can be selectively picked for the application

This AIR provides a detailed example of the aircraft and systems development for a function of a hypothetical S18 aircraft. In order to present a clear picture, an aircraft function was broken down into a single system. A function was chosen which had sufficient complexity to allow use of all the methodologies, yet was simple enough to present a clear picture of the flow through the process. This function/system was analyzed using the methods and tools described in ARP4754A/ED-79A. The aircraft level function is “Decelerate Aircraft On Ground” and the system is the braking system. The interaction of the braking system functions with the aircraft are identified with the relative importance based on implied aircraft interactions and system availabilities at the aircraft level. This example does not include validation and verification of the aircraft level hazards and interactions with the braking system. However, the principles used at the braking system level can be applied at the

E-25 General Standards for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) describes standard methods of heat application to cure thermosetting resins for commercial aircraft composite repairs. The methods described in this document shall only be used when specified in an approved repair document or with the agreement of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or regulatory authority.
AMS CACRC Commercial Aircraft Composite Repair Committee
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) defines the test set-up requirements, general analysis procedures, and test report documentation for impact tests where photometric analysis of the high speed film or digital video will be required to obtain target paths (typically the Anthropomorphic Test Dummy (ATD) head path and knee path). Such tests support the requirements of AS8049 - Performance Standard for Seats in Civil Rotorcraft, Transport Aircraft and General Aviation Aircraft. These setup and analysis procedures are applicable to conventional, geometry based, two-dimensional analysis. If a more sophisticated technique that allows cameras to be installed at oblique angles for two or three-dimensional analysis is used, then the specific procedures required by that technique supersede any conflicting procedures contained herein. Some of the requirements that could be superseded include camera placement, optical data channel evaluation, camera to subject measurements, and scaling

This recommended practice describes the procedure to measure and report the operating efficiency for all types of constant velocity joints (including fixed and plunging/end motion type joints) used in cars, SUVs, and trucks. This includes halfshaft as well as propshaft applications. This does not apply to non-CV joints. Rotational inertia is not considered within the scope of this recommended practice. This recommended practice provides a common method to quantify and report the operating efficiency characteristics of a CVJ. This practice does not apply to parasitic losses (spin loss, churning loss, or zero torque loss) as experienced on deactivated AWD/4WD systems. The losses in this condition are significantly less and require higher accuracy than what is required in this recommended practice.
Drivetrain Standards Committee
This paper describes a recommended practice and procedure for the correlation of test cells that are used for the performance testing of turboprop and turboshaft engines. This Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) shall apply to both dynamometer and propeller based testing. Test cell correlation is performed to determine the effect of any given test cell enclosure and equipment on the performance of an engine relative to the baseline performance of that engine. Although no original equipment manufacturer (OEM) documents are actually referenced, the experience and knowledge of several OEMs contributed to the development of this document. Each engine manufacturer has their own practices relating to correlation and they will be used by those OEMS for the purpose of establishing certified test facilities.
