Hydraulic systems are used on marine vehicles for steering, vehicle control, and utility services. System components that generate and transmit noise are of concern. This SAE Information Report (a) addresses noise requirements which may apply to the hydraulic systems of ships and submersibles, and (b) identifies noise sources and techniques which may be used to reduce system noise. Noise of power sources (e.g., electric motors) and end items (e.g., steering linkages) is beyond the scope of this document.

These Protocols can be used for all forms of motorsports; however, only certain combinations of Green Racing Elements will result in motorsport competitions that are recognized as Green Racing events. As new information, fuels and technologies emerge, addendums or new protocols will be developed. The SAE International (SAE) Motorsports Engineering Activity is also an invaluable source of reference materials and ongoing technical advice providing access to the constantly evolving set of best safety and operational practices for current and emerging technologies. This is especially true with regard to high voltage safety and the adoption of other advanced propulsion and fuel system technologies.

This SAE Information Report is the listing of recommendations for shelf storage for hydraulic brake components. Included in brake components are wheel cylinders, master cylinders, combination valves, and disc brake caliper assemblies. This document is not a specification. This document embodies the analyses and experiences of many users and manufacturers. Where specific manufacturers' recommendations are made, those recommendations shall supersede the recommendations of this document. This document lists the successful procedures and practices associated with brake components based on long experience of a wide cross section of manufacturers and users. The practices are expected to be applied to all brake components where SAE standards are applicable.

The previous revision of AIR5784 summarizes some of the available literature on cabin air study, engine oil composition, decomposition, and toxicity testing. This revision of AIR5784 includes literature and information on stakeholder involvement, selected air sampling studies, oil composition, and oil degradation, published from 2000 to 2023. The entire contents of the reviewed literature are not necessarily endorsed by either SAE or the members of the study group who produced it. This is not a comprehensive review but is intended to enable E-34 and other technical organizations to participate in informed discussions on the topic. Also, the review is intended to indicate where additional work may be necessary to properly gauge the potential role that turbine lubricants (and OPs) play in cabin air quality. The toxicology of oil fumes and their individual constituents is beyond the scope of this document and outside the remit of this committee.

This document provides information, guidelines, and practices for the application, use, and administration of two-dimensional and three-dimensional droplet impingement and ice accretion computer codes. The codes provide computational simulations of inflight icing that predict droplet trajectory, water loading, and ice accretion on aircraft components. These ice accretion characteristics are used during the aircraft design and certification process.
AC-9C Aircraft Icing Technology Committee
This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) offers gland details for a 0.364 inch (9.246 mm) cross-section gland (nominal 3/8 inch) with proposed gland lengths for compression-type seals with two backup rings over a range of 7 to 21 inches (178 to 533 mm) in diameter. The dash number system used is similar to AS568A. A 600 series has been chosen as a logical extension of AS568A, and the 625 number has been selected for the initial number, since 300 and 400 series in MIL-G-5514 and AS4716 begin with 325 and 425 sizes. Seal configurations and design are not a part of this document. This gland is for use with compression-type seals including, but not limited to, O-rings, T-rings, D-rings, cap seals, etc.
