This SAE Standard establishes the test procedure, environment, and instrumentation for determining the sound levels of snowmobiles in the stationary test mode. This test method is intended to provide an accurate measurement of exhaust and other engine noise and may be used to evaluate new and in-use snowmobiles to determine compliance with noise control regulations. Sound level measurements obtained with this test method are not intended as an engineering determination of overall machine noise. For this purpose, the use of SAE J192 is recommended.

This document sets forth general, functional, procedural, and design criteria and recommendations concerning human engineering of data link systems. The recommendations are based on limited evidence from empirical and analytic studies of simulated data link communication, and on experience from operational tests and actual use of data link. However, because data are not yet available to support recommendations on all potentially critical human engineering issues these recommendations necessarily go beyond the data link research and include requirements based on related research and human factors engineering practice. It is also recognized that evolution of these recommendations will be appropriate as experience with data link accumulates and new applications are implemented. This document focuses primarily on recommendations for data link communications between an air traffic specialist and a pilot, i.e., air traffic services communications, although some recommendations address use of

The scope of SAE J3143 will cover non-metallic line assemblies intended for containing and circulating lubricant (PAG, POE compressor oils), liquid, and gaseous R-134a, R-152a, or R-1234yf refrigerant in automotive air-conditioning systems. SAE J3143 will also provide the necessary hose permeation values used in SAE J2727 mobile air-conditioning system refrigerant emission charts. The assembly shall be designed to minimize permeation of the refrigerant, contamination of the system, and to be functional over a temperature range of -30 to 125 °C. Specific construction details are to be agreed upon between user and supplier. Figure 1 shows a typical A/C system with TXV.

This standard covers all types of manually operated high pressure oxygen, cylinder shut off valves for use in commercial aircraft. It is intended that the valve shall be attached to a pressure cylinder storing oxygen under a nominal pressure of 12.76 MPa (1850 psig) at 21 °C (70 °F). Upon opening the valve, oxygen will be permitted to discharge from the storage cylinder to the valve outlet and to other downstream components of the oxygen system. It shall also be possible to recharge the cylinder through the valve.

This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) describes a method for assessing size dependent particle losses in a sampling and measurement system of specified geometry utilizing the non-volatile Particulate Matter (nvPM) mass and number concentrations measured at the end of the sampling system.1 The penetration functions of the sampling and measurement system may be determined either by measurement or by analytic computational methods. Loss mechanisms including thermophoretic (which has a very weak size dependence) and size dependent losses are considered in this method2 along with the uncertainties due to both measurement error and the assumptions of the method. The results of this system loss assessment allow development of estimated correction factors for nvPM mass and number concentrations to account for the system losses facilitating estimation of the nvPM mass and number at the engine exhaust nozzle exit plane. As the particle losses are size dependent, the magnitude of correction
