This document defines the technical guidelines for the safe integration of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cell Systems (FCS), fuel (considered to be liquid and compressed hydrogen storage types only), fuel storage, fuel distribution and appropriate electrical systems into the aircraft. Editorial Note: Today PEM systems and fuel storage represent the most mature FCS technology and currently forms the basis for this standard. Other types of fuel cell systems and fuels (including reforming technologies and electrolyzers), may be covered by a further update to this document.
AE-7F Hydrogen and Fuel Cells
Long wave ultraviolet or UV-A irradiation (between 320 and 400 nm) is used for fluorescent inspections in magnetic particle and liquid penetrant examinations. UV-A irradiation is obtained from either LED, fluorescent, or high intensity discharge lamps that are stationary or portable. Commercially available UV-A lamps possess a large variation in intensity output that may introduce a legitimate concern for possible health hazards. This document reviews the nature of UV-A irradiation emitted by lamps and acceptable UV dosage limits adopted by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH®) and European Union and recommendation of proper practices when working with UV-A irradiation.

This document defines a physical layer having a robust immunity to EMI and physical properties suitable for harsh environments. This document is suitable for CAN interfaces applying CAN HS (high-speed) transceivers as specified in ISO 11898-2. These SAE Recommended Practices are intended for light- and heavy-duty vehicles on- or off-road, as well as appropriate stationary applications which use vehicle derived components (e.g., generator sets). Vehicles of interest include, but are not limited to, on- and off-highway trucks and their trailers, construction equipment, and agricultural equipment and implements.
Truck and Bus Control and Communications Network Committee
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) specifies for quality requirements that are additive to a procurement document or contract, where an organization: a needs to provide additional guidance for suppliers and other organizations in the delivery of products, goods and services in accordance with stated quality demands, and b needs to provide information in addition or in absence of existing quality system requirements to provide the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable regulatory requirements. NOTE: In this ARP, the term ‘product’ applies only to the product intended for, or required by, a customer.

E-25 General Standards for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems
This document is to be used as a guide in preparing specifications for maintenance and inspection of acme screw assemblies used in driven linear actuators. It is intended to cover Acme screw assemblies driven by electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, manual means, with or without gear case or speed reduction systems, and micro actuators. Though the Acme screw is the most common thread form for sliding contact jackscrews this guideline is equally applicable to other sliding contact thread forms such as buttress, square, stub acme, and others including custom thread forms. The term Acme shall be used generally to address all sliding contact thread forms.
A-6B3 Electro-Mechanical Actuation Committee
This SAE Information Report introduces key concepts and properties of adhesives, sealants, and heat transfer materials (HTMs) and the roles they serve in present-day battery systems applications. The basic chemistry and properties of the three types of materials are summarized along with important health and environmental information. Relevant material dispense methodologies and equipment for material dispensing is reviewed. A series of representative battery applications examples employing adhesives, sealants, and HTMs is also provided with particular attention given to end-use performance.
Battery Pack Assembly Materials Committee

This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) defines the minimum performance standard to demonstrate compliance with the regulatory design, test and operational requirements for a Temperature Controlled Container (TCC).
AGE-2 Air Cargo
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) contains methods used to measure the optical performance of airborne electronic flat panel display (FPD) systems. The methods described are specific to the direct view, liquid crystal matrix (x-y addressable) display technology used on aircraft flight decks. The focus of this document is on active matrix, liquid crystal displays (LCD). The majority of the procedures can be applied to other display technologies, however, it is cautioned that some techniques need to be tailored to different display technologies. The document covers monochrome and color LCD operation in the transmissive mode within the visual spectrum (the wavelength range of 380 to 780 nm). These procedures are adaptable to reflective and transflective displays paying special attention to the source illumination geometry. Photometric and colorimetric measurement procedures for airborne direct view CRT (cathode ray tube) displays are found in ARP1782. Optical measurement

This recommended practice provides the design criteria for static elastomeric O-ring seals used specifically in engine and engine control systems. It provides axial compression (face type) groove dimensions for aerospace metric O-ring sizes specified in MA2010. The conditions considered to formulate the design criteria are also described, e.g., seal squeeze and groove volume to accommodate O-ring swell. NOTE: Tables of O-ring groove dimensions are included based on the design criteria specified herein. Dimensions in this document are in millimeters unless otherwise specified.
