This AIR provides information about the specific requirements for missile hydraulic pumps and their associated power sources.
This procedure describes a method of measuring the resistance to wet color transfer of materials such as textiles, leather, and composites.
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides the user with standardized guidelines for the measurement of effective intensity of short pulse width strobe anticollision lights for aircraft in the laboratory, in maintenance facilities, and in the field. A common source of traceability for calibration of the measurement systems, compensation for known causes of variation in light output such as the use of colored lenses, and recommendations which minimize sources of errors and uncertainties are included in this document. Estimates of uncertainty and error sources for each class of measurement are discussed.

The purpose of this SAE Recommended Practice is to establish a uniform laboratory procedure for securing and reporting the friction and wear characteristics of brake linings. The performance data obtained can be used for in-plant quality control by brake lining manufacturers and for the quality assessment of incoming shipments by the purchasers of brake linings.
This SAE Information Report introduces key concepts and properties of adhesives, sealants, and heat transfer materials (HTMs) and the roles they serve in present-day battery systems applications. The basic chemistry and properties of the three types of materials are summarized along with important health and environmental information. Relevant material dispense methodologies and equipment for material dispensing is reviewed. A series of representative battery applications examples employing adhesives, sealants, and HTMs is also provided with particular attention given to end-use performance.
This specification covers one type of epoxy-resin-impregnated organic fibers in the form of woven cloth.
This specification covers one type of continuous multifilament carbon fibers in the form of a tow or yarn (when twisted). The weight per unit length of the tow or yarn is governed by the filament count which is identified by the supplier's grade or material designation.
This specification covers twelve classes of para-aramid tape and webbing of a single width and with varying weights.
This specification covers one type of continuous multifilament carbon fibers in the form of a tow or yarn (when twisted). The weight per unit length of the tow or yarn is governed by the filament count which is identified by the supplier's grade or material designation.
This specification covers one type of epoxy-resin-impregnated organic fibers in the form of woven cloth.
This specification covers one type of polyether-type urethane (EU) resin and hardener which, when mixed and cured, produce elastomeric polyurethane products.
This specification covers one type of organic fiber in the form of roving. The product shall be formed as three ends of 2840 (3160 d tex) denier yarn (AMS3901/14) collected into an approximately parallel arrangement without twist.

This specification covers a leaded bronze in the form of sand and centrifugal castings (see 8.6).
This SAE Recommended Practice provides a taxonomy of terms related to local and regional on-demand and shared mobility services (including ground, aviation, and maritime) and their enabling technologies. Functional definitions for shared modes (both fleet sharing and ride services), services, business models, and mobility applications are defined in this SAE Recommended Practice. This SAE Recommended Practice also provides a taxonomy of related terms and definitions. Though public transport is part of shared mobility, it is not included in this SAE Recommended Practice because its definition is well-established and documented. This document does not provide specifications or otherwise impose requirements on on-demand and shared mobility.
The Physics-of-Failure (PoF) is a science-based approach to reliability that uses modeling and simulation to design-in reliability. This approach models the root causes of failures such as fatigue, fracture, wear, and corrosion. Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools have been developed to address various loads, stresses, failure mechanisms and sites. PoF uses knowledge of basic failure processes to prevent failures through robust design and manufacturing practices, and aims to: Design-in reliability up front; Eliminate failures prior to testing; Increase fielded reliability; Promote rapid, cost effective deployment of Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS); Improve diagnostic and prognostic techniques and processes; and, Decrease operational and support costs. This guide provides a high level overview of the methodology, process and advantages to performing a PoF assessment.

This specification covers columbium in the form of sheet, strip, plate, and foil.
This SAE Recommended Practice covers equipment capabilities and the test procedure to quantify and qualify the shear strength between the friction material and backing plate or brake shoe for automotive applications. This SAE Recommended Practice is applicable to: bonded drum brake linings; integrally molded disc brake pads; disc brake pads and backing plate assemblies using mechanical retention systems (MRS); coupons from drum brake shoes or disc brake pad assemblies. The test and its results are also useful for short, semi-quantitative verification of the bonding and molding process. This Recommended Practice is applicable during product and process development, product verification and quality control. This Recommended Practice does not replicate or predict actual vehicle performance or part durability.
