This specification covers a low-alloy steel in the form of bars, forgings, mechanical tubing, and forging or tubing stock.
This supplement forms a part of SAE Aerospace Specification AS85421. It shall be used to identify fitting standards citing this procurement specification.
This SAE Standard establishes the test procedure, environment, and instrumentation for determining the sound levels of snowmobiles in the stationary test mode. This test method is intended to provide an accurate measurement of exhaust and other engine noise and may be used to evaluate new and in-use snowmobiles to determine compliance with noise control regulations. Sound level measurements obtained with this test method are not intended as an engineering determination of overall machine noise. For this purpose, the use of SAE J192 is recommended.
This SAE Recommended Practice covers electric speedometer systems for general on-road (passenger car, multi-purpose passenger vehicle, truck, and bus) applications.
This SAE Standard applies to spark plug installation sockets of the long length type which are to be used for installing spark plugs of the most commonly used sizes for the North American market.
This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) establishes minimum requirements for eddy current inspection of circular holes in nonferrous, metallic, low conductivity (less than 5% IACS) aircraft engine hardware with fasteners removed. The inspection is intended to be performed at maintenance and overhaul facilities on engine run hardware.
This SAE Part Standard covers selected inch dimensioned tapping screws and metallic drive screws manufactured in accordance with American Society for Mechanical Engineers dimensional standards. This SAE standard covers material most often used in ship systems and equipment but its use may be applied wherever fasteners of the covered materials are used. This standard permits the fasteners to be identified and ordered by a Part Identification Number (PIN) as defined in this standard.
Scope is unavailable.
The focus of this SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) is the integration of thermally actuated pressure release devices, hereafter referred to as fuse plugs, with the wheel and brake assembly. It does not address the manufacturing, quality or acceptance test requirements pertaining to the production of these fuse plugs. It establishes minimum design, installation, qualification, and operational requirements for fuse plugs which are used only in tubeless tire type aircraft braked wheels. Fuse plugs are designed to completely release the contained inflation pressure from a tubeless tire and wheel assembly when brake generated heat causes the tire or wheel to exceed a safe temperature level. The objective is to prevent tire or wheel rupture due to brake generated heat that could cause an unsafe condition for personnel or the aircraft. This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) provides information on aircraft cabin air quality, including: Origins of chemical airborne contaminants during routine operating and failure conditions. Exposure control measures, including design, maintenance, and worker training/education. This AIR does not deal with airflow requirements.
This document establishes the Rotorcraft Industry Technology Association (RITA) Health and Usage Monitoring System Data Interchange Specification. The RITA HUMS Data Interchange Specification will provide information exchange within a rotorcraft HUMS and between a rotorcraft HUMS and external entities.
This specification covers a corrosion and heat resistant nickel alloy in the form of sheet, strip, and plate.
This specification prescribes the requirements for Titanium and Titanium-alloy castings produced by the investment casting process.
SCOPE IS UNAVAILABLE.
This document defines requirements for digital, command/ response time division multiplexing (data bus) techniques for fiber optic implementation. The concept of operation and information flow on the multiplex data bus and the functional formats to be employed are also defined.
This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of extruded bars, rods, wire, profiles, and tubing.
