Helping engineers keep up-to-date professionally through continuing engineering education activities is not a new issue but is one of growing interest to both the individual engineer, employer, educational institutions, professional societies, government agencies and others. The use of telecommunications, particularly television via satellites, to reach engineers directly at their work site offers some challenging new opportunities to facilitate lifelong learning for engineers.
