Authors Abstract
Content
Operators of heavy duty trucks were surveyed regarding seat design preferences. The samples included drivers employed by TMC member fleets as well as drivers intercepted at a major trucking show.
Results indicate a need for improvement in seat design and training of drivers in proper seat adjustment. Further, the data suggest a need for either adjustable seat cushion width or the option to choose among seat sizes for different operators.
