- Natural gas is a valuable commodity produced as a by-product of oil drilling in many parts of the world. Using this commodity essentially requires that problems associated with its low specific gravity be overcome. One possible application is for vehicular propulsion in localities close to the gas deposit. This paper reviews the major advantages and disadvantages of this course of action.
