Authors Abstract
Content
The Electronic Fuel Gage being used in models of the 1980 Mark/Lincoln/Thunderbird/Cougar XR7 has minimal basic system logic requirements. However, by incorporating a microcomputer, it was possible to reduce the cost and complexity of other components in the module. As the assign and development of the Electronic Fuel Gage progressed, the need for additional features surfaced that had not been identified at the beginning of the program. The microcomputer provided the flexibility to add these features and still meet the cost and timing constraints of the program.
