- Steel disc brake rotors have been evaluated by many in an effort to overcome foundry capacity problems, realize possible design advantages and improve performance. The twin disc rotor discussed in this paper is a novel design which makes higher energy absorption rates possible. The fins of a conventional rotor are replaced by a double faced pad which doubles lining area without modification of the caliper, wheel or other hardware.
