Abstract
Content
PARTICULARLY for city buses, as Mr. Heldt points out, there are definite advantages in using a type of drive or transmission that gives uninterrupted acceleration.
Continuous acceleration can be obtained by mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic means, or by a combination of mechanical with either electrical or hydraulic devices. Mr. Heldt devotes this paper to a general discussion of these various types of transmission or drive.
