Trade Relations and Transfer of Technology of the Indonesian Automotive Industry

Automotive industry is one of the priority program to be developed within the industrial development plan of the country. Besides there exist a market/business opportunity, the development of the automotive industry could only be realised because of a strong and active guidance by the Government. A series of rules and regulations issued by the Government since early 70's, the automotive industry has developed to the present stage of capabilities.

Transfer of technology could only realised if there are investment and production.

Transfer of technology in product technology is very limited, and of manufacturing technology is closely related to the degree of local content.
