To develop an accelerated Clutch test simulation method at inhouse laboratory as System level of validation to replicate field phenomena in short time with controlled repeatability and increased test accuracy. Wet clutch is one of the M&M technology project for higher hp(75) tractors. Currently Mahindra having dry clutch system in higher hp tractors & presently Wet clutch development in progress for higher HP tractors for increasing clutch life & to reduce clutch pedal operation as per customer requirement, hence new test rig to be developed for validating new tractor wet clutch system as per RWUP. Previously tractor clutch system is completely evaluated through field testing on tractor level. Thus, there are several drawbacks in field testing like more waiting time to avail seasons, more testing time, evaluation of limited number of samples, non-availability of complete tractor on time, less accuracy, less repeatability of test results, unsafe conditions of rider, higher human fatigue, lack of confidentiality etc. Thus to incorporate this in Lab new development has done by using available inhouse resources, initially input motor is selected as per required capacity & will act as engine in tractor level to provide required input speed to drive the Tractor system & Input torque cell used next to the input motor to ensure the Torque achieving on input side (Clutch assembly) then provided bearing block for motor & transmission alignment as well as to withstand the input side weight of Flywheel & clutch assembly, afterwards assembled whole transmission system along with clutch. With this new development tractor Clutch wear simulation has been done & observed tractor clutch related failures like clutch plate failure, Finger wear etc. as it is in field within a short period of time with cost effective manner & provided feedback for design change in early stage of product development based on failures at lab. Tractor Clutch system wear simulation endurance test conducted by using tractor brake system for creating required input torque as per RWUP during endurance test whereas using transmission brake continually increases the temperature of hydraulic system.
