Abstract
Content
This paper presents data, from laboratory animals, on the toxicity and metabolic fate of the fuel additive methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT) and the biological effects following exposure to automotive exhaust emissions generated from an engine system which was run on a fuel containing MMT.
The Environmental Toxicology Research Laboratory has been interested in MMT because of the potential widespread use of this additive as a replacement for tetraethyl lead as an octane improver.
