Authors Abstract
Content
The ESA Proposed MarsNEXT mission includes at least three Landers and an orbiter. These will establish a network on the surface of Mars to enable investigation of the interior of the planet, its atmospheric dynamics and the geology of each landing site. This paper describes the current thermal design and how this has been arrived at. It includes a discussion on the particular thermal modeling methods used on the Martian surface, for example how to include diffused light from atmospheric dust, and a description of the cruise configuration for the journey from Earth to Mars
