Authors Abstract
Content
The effect of several anodizing variables on the development of crazing during heating of anodized aluminum was studied. Coating thickness, degree of hydration, and anodizing temperature were found to exert an important influence on crazing at a given temperature. Increasing the time and temperature of heating the anodic coating increased the degree of crazing. Results demonstrated the adverse effect of crazing on the performance of the anodic coating in the CASS test.
