Abstract
Content

The main purpose of this paper is to discuss a method to identify and select key manufacturing/process technologies. In particular we will concentrate on thin wall machining (TWM) and the very efficient machining of titanium (VEMT). Each technology will be assessed using a structured approach that will consider. • Technology baseline which will address the customer requirement, business requirement and industry position. • Technology selection which will review a vareity of methods to select the technology. • Technology inputs that include the product effected, process metrics, and technology barriers.
