Authors Abstract
Content
This document refers to available technologies, their integration into a design development and validation process and future trends on the Industry. Mathematical algorithms, Computer Aided Design, Finite Element Analysis, Actual Parts Digitizing and Real Road Load Simulation are the key processes on new Design concepts and validation. SANLUIS RASSINI has been integrating a system that can provide time and cost savings, as well as a better understanding of improvement opportunities for product design.
Main subjects in technologies integration and then customized to specific needs are:
  1. a)
Code development technologies applied to Design Concept thru customized code based interfaces.
  2. b)
CAD modeling, interfaces, compatibility and trends. Worldwide CAD systems trend and integration.
  3. c)
CAE, design concepts and behaviors for integrated customized tools.
  4. d)
Digitizing the Prototype for geometry validation thru CMM and laser technologies.
  5. e)
Performance Validation on Static and Dynamic behaviors and in-vehicle multiaxial environment.
  6. f)
For near future, Product Design development tools will include NVH capabilities, CAE will include Design Concepts to comply international safety regulations. Optical strain for large displacements and vibroacoustics will be improved. High performance processors, terabyters age, ultra high speed semiconductors and the virtual-world concept are the key features for the future.
As summary, these Technologies will be pulled out from those Customers requiring new tools on their engineering applications and will be supported from those suppliers that are still doing a continuous R &D process, and where the Smartest will survive over its competitor, for both Customer and Supplier rolls.
