In order to support successful tracking and monitoring tasks in different environments, drones need to quickly and accurately identify targets. This paper studies a drone combat target positioning method, with a focus on the BeiDou satellite navigation system and its performance under different environmental conditions. A complete system has been designed, including flight control system, environmental sensors, data transmission and processing system, aiming to achieve precise positioning and target tracking of unmanned aerial vehicles. This paper uses on-site testing to explain the coverage range and stability positioning accuracy of ranging signals in different environments. Experimental data shows that the BDS system has good positioning error performance for unmanned aerial vehicles, with an average error of 46.52 cm. BDS positioning time is usually short, with a maximum positioning time of 780ms and a minimum positioning time of 224ms. However, the BDS system still needs improvement in terms of dynamic environmental adaptability, multi-target tracking, anti-interference ability, and adaptability to harsh environmental conditions. Future work will focus on algorithm optimization, hardware technology improvement, and data security to enhance system performance.
