- Content
- Several cooling systems are presented which can deliver near ambient temperature turbocharged air for diesel engines. Systems are compared briefly. The effects of major operating parameters are discussed for both liquid-coupled indirect transfer systems and for the air-to-air chassis mounted cooling system. The paper emphasizes the system design process, and indicates choices which can produce minimum size or cost of heat exchangers and minimum system pressure losses for a given charge air temperature.
