Authors Abstract
Content
Recently, a new parts production process has emerged from the laboratory to be included with machining, stamping, and forging techniques. This new process begins with conventional plastic injection molding equipment, and through subsequent steps, results in mass production of high-strength, near-ultimate density metal and ceramic parts. It is similar to, yet distinctly different from, conventional powder metallurgy fabrication. The information presented in this paper reviews the development of the technique in addition to describing the production equipment and currently available materials.
