It has been observed that in recently developed advanced vehicles, the door system contributes significantly to interior noise levels. In this study, the noise transmission paths through the door system were investigated and effective improvement measures were explored. In order to determine the noise transmission paths through the door system and to establish effective countermeasures, door buck tests were conducted. In addition, under the same conditions, simulations were carried out using a Finite Element-based acoustic analysis tool to evaluate the effectiveness of modifications that could not be tested experimentally. While attaching sound-absorbing pads to the rear surfaces of door trims is a commonly used method for improving noise transmission, the most effective approach was found to be the addition of sound-absorbing materials between the door outer panel and the module panel, as well as reducing the vibration of the door outer panel itself.
