Streaming Video and Tactical White Board Systems On Apache Using the Tactical Common Data Link

Wideband digital data links, previously the exclusive domain of high-flying ISR assets, are increasingly finding their way into tactical platforms such as attack helicopters and small unmanned air vehicles. These links provide real-time streaming video and network capabilities built on an architecture that simplifies integration, interoperability, and data distribution. Tactical White Board is a software application designed to take full advantage of the new capability by providing real-time video display, image capture, image annotation, target designation and distribution of image and target data over the network. Streaming video and Tactical White Board systems were integrated with the Block III Apaches network enabled architecture and evaluated in flight tests.
