Abstract

Content: The report reviews United Kingdom safety developments since 1982. The mandatory seatbelt regulation is under evaluation. Improved steering wheel design, accident data analysis, car occupant protection, side impact protection, and pedestrian protection are outlined. Motorcycle safety measures are being developed.
