Authors Abstract
Content
To an ever increasing extent, the conditioning of air in commercial vehicles is being carried out by drying, in particular by a 1-box air dryer with a separate regeneration air reservoir.
Recommendations are made concerning the necessary lowering of the pressure dew point in conjunction with the correct dimensioning of regeneration air reservoirs, and reference is made to the disadvantages of regeneration with air from the braking air reservoirs. As a means of expanding the application range of the 1-box air dryer, potential solutions are presented with the purpose of optimizing drying - in particular during critical filling processes, with energy-saving aspects also being taken into account - as well as indicating devices for the replacement of boxes which are no longer usable.
