Soft Shift Pump Unloading Valve

To improve the performance of a hydraulic pump unloading feature and to eliminate a noise problem induced by water hammer effect on a Case model 821 Wheel Loader, a unique soft-shift, spring-biased cartridge logic element was designed and used in combination with a metering pressure sequence valve. The result was a marked improvement in the pump unloading transition and in reduction of noise.
