Small Volume Manufacture of Custom Heavy Duty Trucks

The purpose of this paper is to explore the concept of manufacturing heavy trucks in small volumes for special applications. It reviews a variety of operating conditions and their impact on custom specifications to illustrate the reasons for, and the results of, custom specifications. Based on this requirement for diversity, the alternatives for manufacturing and production are discussed.
