Authors Abstract
Content
Accident reconstruction involves an explanation or re-enactment of how an accident occurred. This account must be based upon physical evidence and all available facts pertaining to the accident. Moreover, this explication must be lucid and appealing to the audience that is being addressed.
The objective of this paper is to introduce a procedure for presenting an accident reconstruction in a clear and effective manner. The technique that is discussed herein consists of constructing three-dimensional models of an accident scenario for later filming with still and video cameras. The reconstruction is then presented by means of 35mm or medium format slides and real time video animation- Several reconstructions which illustrate the methodology end have been used in litigation are presented.
