- High-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steels combine high strength, good weldability, high impact strength and a low price. These materials have been widely used in bars and tubes with an extra high strength combined with good machinability and feasibility for heat treatment, i.e., carburizing. The use of SKF 280 in cars can lead to weight-saving and lower production costs.
